The Back to School Initiative will provide essential school equipment for vulnerable families at the start of the 2020 School year.
The initiative began as part of KENG’s commitment to support positive change in the community by addressing educational disadvantage. Children’s education and learning has a direct and long-term impact on their capacity to develop and function socially, emotionally, and educationally and to engage in mainstream institutions, such as employment, throughout life. Children who start their formal education without essential equipment are disadvantaged both educationally and socially.
The Back to School Initiative plays an important, foundational role in the cultural and social development of communities and in the lives of children and families.
“For every $50 Donation we will send a child back to school”
The Back to School Packs will support a positive educational experience for vulnerable children and families by suppling essential school resources for the start of the school year. The research tells us that if children start the school year without the necessary resources it negatively impacts on their educational experience. The initiative aims to counter this trend by encouraging positive associations with education, learning and school.
The packs include, purchased items such as school bag, lunch box, drink bottle, a hat and stationary items.
